Rei is a puppet born into the role of a ballet performer. She loved it, the attention, the praises, and she loved making her Puppeteer happy. But what happens when her worldview is challenged? What if she desires to be something else? And will her Puppeteer let her experience these new interests?

Mila Galdur
In this assignment, I chose to design the antagonist of a retelling of Snow White.
Two popstars, 'The Angel' and 'The Dark Mistress,' have fought for fame, secretly desiring each other's roles—The Angel longs to be mischievous, while the Mistress wants to be kind. But they fear losing everything if they step out of character, a fear reinforced by Mila.
Mila is inspired by the idea of the Magic Mirror being the true evil. Beauty is subjective, and the fear of losing value due to it is powerful. The Magic Mirror's manipulation of young girls, like Snow White and the Evil Queen's conflict, mirrors society's obsession with fleeting beauty. Mila embodies this toxic influence of the beauty industry.
As a tribute to Disney’s Snow White (1937) and the Disney Renaissance, which drew inspiration from drag queens, I aimed to capture that iconic aesthetic in Mila’s design.

Personality: He presents himself as theatrical and dramatic, often speaking in a passive-aggressive manner. Behind closed doors, he's a highly intelligent manipulator, using empathy and personal guilt to his advantage. Selfish at his core, he’s willing to fake sincerity if it helps him get what he wants.

Fairytale is a story set in a world of fairytales, where everyone has a role—from heroes and villains to lovers and companions. It’s a story about defining your own destiny and unapologetically being yourself, rather than fearing what others might say.

Mila's Office
In this retelling of Snow White, everything takes place in a futuristic fantasy world. In the original Snow White by the Brothers Grimm, the story was set in 19th-century Germany, so I drew a lot of inspiration from Gothic architecture.
Since the iconic feature of the original Snow White is the apple, and this story revolves around the idea that Mila/the Mirror keeps giving "apples" to the current evil queen, I included many apple motifs, such as trunk shapes and vines, almost mimicking the Art Nouveau movement.
Lastly, when thinking of "futuristic," I envisioned unconventional light sources, floating furniture, and minimalistic arrangements. I incorporated these ideas into the furniture layout of the room, contrasting them with the decorative vines.
